If you look at The Archive, it looks like we’ve been slackin’. We haven’t posted since late February, and with the season fast-approaching, that’s not a great look. However, we’ve been working hard on something big. You may have caught wind of this already when we accidentally released one early, but nonetheless…
We’re excited to announce Under The Radar, a yearly series where we’ll choose one prospect from each team to highlight because (in the spirit of LTQM) they’re interesting. These aren’t necessarily the big boys of the prospect world; in fact, we’d rather they not be. Here are the three loose rules we’re following:
- We’ll organize the posts by division, with some divisions having a bonus prospect
- We’ll try to keep the players generally out of the top 5s of MLB Pipeline’s and Fangraphs’ lists*
- We’ll make sure every team gets at least one prospect highlighted
*With ’24 prospect lists releasing at all different times, we’ll use the ’24 ranks if we have them at time of writing, and ’23/’23 update lists if we don’t.
We’ll be releasing UTR once a day for a week straight in what we’re going to super creatively call Under The Radar Week. We’re super pumped to share our picks with you guys, and track them throughout the year. We’ll revisit them periodically to see how they’re doing, and to highlight our big hits (and big misses).
In the future, we hope to expand into making our own prospect lists. For now, UTR is our first effort into that world. We’re thankful you decided to join us for the ride.
Our first UTR drop will be this coming Monday, the 11th. See you there!
